On May 18th, 1986, Montreal Canadiens faced off against the Calgary Flames in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals.In a thrilling turn of events, Brian Skrudland scored the fastest overtime goal in Stanley Cup playoffs history, beating Mike Vernon in just 9 seconds to give the Canadiens a 3-2 victory. Skrudland’s goal was not only a testament to his skill but also made him the first player since Cy Wentworth in 1931 to score his first career postseason goal in overtime of the Stanley Cup finals
