decided to write this article as on June 25, 2024, it was announced that Shea Webber will be inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame this coming season along with others.

Shea Webber was born August 14, 1985, in Sicamous, British Columbia, Canada. He is 6’4″193cm and weighs 230 lbs104kg. He was a right-shot defenceman. He was drafted in the 2003 NHL entry draft, in the 2nd round, the 49th player overall drafted, by the Nashville Predators

His first contract was for the 2005-06 and was signed by Nashville Predators GM David Poile.

Webber played for the Nashville Predators until he was traded to the HABS on June 29, 2016, for PK Subban. At the time fans of the HABS were mad that a young superstar was traded and the fans in Nashville were mad that their captain was traded

Webber missed the entire 2022-23 season with the HABS due to injury and was traded to the Las Vegas Golden Knights forEvgenii Dadonov.

Webber made his NHL debut on January 6, 2006, versus the Detroit Red Wings, recording three shots on goal in 11:08 minutes of ice time.

Webber when playing had a booming slap shot that many times was clocked at over 100MPH.

Webber only three times in his NHL career was a minus player and that was when he was with the Nashville Predators started in 2007-08 and ended in 2020-21 with the HABS, I’m not counting the years after as he played no games although those years are listed,

Webber played on Team Canada in 2008-09 in the WC, 2009-10 when Canada won the Olympic Gold medal, 2013-14 when Canada again won the Olympic Gold Medal, and 2016-17 in the WCup.

Webber in his NHL career played in 1038 games scored 224 goals had 365 assists for a total of 589 points and was a +79 and had 714 penalties In 97 playoff games he had 18 goals 24 assists for a total of 42 points and was a -1 and had 106 penalty minutes,

Besides his on-ice abilities Webber was an excellent leader and mentor, In 2016 Webber won the Mark Messier Leadership Award. When he was with the HABS although not the Captain of the team then they were on a bad losing streak, Captain Max Pacority didn’t do anything but Shea Webber called a player-only meeting in his house to try and help the team. Also when the HABS were eliminated in the playoffs Carrey Price said it was on him and Webber told him it’s not on you it’s on the team.

Brief Biography

His mother, Tracy, was a hairdresser, and his father, James Weber, a sawmill worker. Has a brother, Brandon, who is two years younger than him.

Webber married his high school sweetheart, Bailey Munro, whom he met while playing junior hockey in Kelowna. They got married on July 20, 2013, and have 3 children.
